5 Reasons to Bring Your Own Straw
If you are not building the habit to Bring Your Own Straw, consider these 5 reasons why you might want to take that on ASAP and how we can help:
- Using single-use straws is wasteful. The average person uses 1.6 per day in the USA. That’s 584 per year and with 323 million people in the USA, that’s 500 million straws per day!
- Toxic chemicals in single-use plastic straws are bad for you and the environment. Just because a straw is BPA-free does not mean the other chemicals in the plastics are any better for you. Avoid eating/drinking from plastics, period.
- When you bring your own straw, you take a position of power and responsibility. It gives you a different stature and satisfaction that you can make a difference. Others will take notice and reconsider their actions.
- Drinking from a reusable glass straw is hands-down better than plastic. Everything you drink tastes better and glass straws are sturdy. You don’t have to worry about supporting the end with your entire mouth.
- With a To Go Case to carry your reusable glass straw, you can safely bring your own straw and keep your pocket, purse, or bag dry. When you get back home, just pop the glass straw and case in the dishwasher to keep them clean.

I like to bring my glass straw to the coffee shop every morning because it’s eco friendly and makes my drink taste better. I always drink iced coffee, and I like the noise the glass straw makes when I stir the ice. It’s definitely got me noticed.
Everything tastes better through a glass straw! Plus, it’s way better for the earth. So really, it’s a win-win 💗
I love using my glass straws, because they bring beauty to simple, everyday life. It adds art to the mundane.
Wow! This is the first I see of your amazing product. This is a GREAT idea! I don’t have any reasons yet as to why I use them cause I’ll be placing my first order today, but I can tell you why I WILL be using them – all things we do, either big or small that impact our environment in a positive way is a huge step forward…and when you can do it fashionably…well then…that’s just an awesome bonus!
Just ordering my first—actually, a set of 4 to share, regular and smoothie for me, regulars for niece and nephew—but reason? Goes with the spork I carry, and will be wrapped in the fabric napkin that I got out of the habit of carrying but will start again. First smoothie likely to be the heart-beet smoothie, and probably a vodka-spiked jalapeño lemonade with the regular straw—both in my Princeton Environmental Film Festival glass
So the reason? To quote Helen Keller, “I am only one, but I am still one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.” (as found on beliefnet.com)
Love your straws. Just feels so indulgent drinking from a glass straw.
I love my straws because they’re beautiful, strong, and make everything taste better. The smoothie blender straw gets the very last drop out of my blender breakfast for one, and I use the 10″ daily in my tumbler. The travel case is super durable for my 8″ers and I am getting a skinny for my hot tea and coffee to prevent tooth staining. Thanks Strawsome for adding beauty and eco friendliness to my daily life!
Glass straws insures my gregarious 3 year old doesn’t chew on a straw, which he’s been prone to do since 6 months of age. Plus I’m teaching my kids healthy environmental habits from the start
Everything really does taste better through glass! Plus I love knowing that I’m doing something meaningful.
I broke my glass drinking bottle and threw it away I was very upset as it was my favorite. Because it was protected by a rubber cover, I forgot my glass straw was inside. I miss my straw so much as I was able to leave it in the drink bottle without worrying about chemicals leaking into the water. Glass straws are the best! No worries with them!
i always drink my morning coffee through an awesome strawsome. keeps coffee stains off my teeth
Everything just tastes better when drank through a glass straw!!
I am a Lupus patient (multiple forms) with all the yuck that comes under that umbrella of pain invisible to those around me, additionally I’m a cancer survivor, three times over….I don’t seem to have much control over my life, my health, my body….I find that even the things that appear so trivial to onlookers are in fact huge milestones in to me. When using my own personal reusable glass straw I am taking control over toxins & germs & in doing so, I’m in fact taking control over my own attitude towards the ever present battle within myself over the disease that rages inside me. I’ve no doubt there are those who are reading my comment & thinking to themselves I sound like a fruit….well, do be it….I have lived long past the life expectancies given by the medical team overseeing my care not t o mention, my active abilities excel far past those indicated in test results of the past years. Most recently I have had to claim my limitations so I might in turn rebuke them. If I give in to any of the multiple forms of Lupus that plague my daily life o loose ground …in claiming my own personal power in even the smallest of areas I claim victory & gain ground. Lupus causes very much a vicious cycle between my physical health & mental/emotional health. Like a domino effect, illness causes stress, worry, sadness in short….defeat. it may sound silly but when I pull out my own reusable glass straws I feel like I’m taking back a small piece of myself that the pain/yuck of the day has used to make me feel weak. My mother has always said lipstick makes her feel empowered & special at the same time & she, to this day still encourages my using lipstick to foster that sense of empowerment. Well, to make her happy I do sometimes indulge in bright beautiful glamorous lips. The dignity & class of a glass straw matches my painted lips & escalates the already intoxifying effecys…. AND, the lipstick cleans off the glass straw extremely easily -lol- not like the residue that lingers on a single use plastic straw causing smears, transfers & an overall feeling of cheapness & ill represented etiquette. Yep, I love my Strawesome Straws
I am not a big drinking straw user, but I love the short, skinny straws as replacements for coffee stirrers. It’s much more eco-friendly than throwing away plastic or even wood stirrers every day.
True everything tastes so much better through glass, plus I find joy in the beautiful colors. Always makes it easier to spot mine in a crowd.

I’m disabled person, I use strawesme everyday 5 times or more. saving the environment and money.
I am a environmental activist and I promote the glass straws often at workshops and meetings. First thing I do in a restaurant is ordering water with NO straw. I also love the name “strawesome”. Thank you for making a great product which is almost indestructible.
